Q: How secure is SurrealDB Cloud?

SurrealDB Cloud runs on Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, using current security best practice. SurrealDB itself provides flexible authentication and fine-grained access control down to the record, row and field level, with built-in or third-party authentication providers.

Q: Is SurrealDB Cloud compliant?

SurrealDB is GDPR, CCPA, ISO 27001, SOC 2 (Type 1 and Type 2) and Cyber Essentials Plus compliant. HIPAA compliance is an optional add-on, and PCI-DSS is in progress. The full status is in our Trust Centre.

Q: How resilient are SurrealDB and SurrealDB Cloud?

SurrealDB runs in production at scale for large enterprises. Every SurrealDB Cloud instance is backed up daily, with configurable frequency and retention to follow. Fault-tolerant, highly available clusters are self-serve on SurrealDB Cloud.

Q: Which cloud providers does SurrealDB Cloud run on?

SurrealDB Cloud runs on Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. You choose the provider and the region when you deploy, and your data stays in that region.

Q: How does pricing work?

In SurrealDB Cloud you pay only for what you use, invoiced monthly on that month's usage. Commitment discounts are available on request.

Q: How is SurrealDB Earth billed?

SurrealDB Earth is serverless and billed by usage: requests, storage and database active hours. Each database starts with the first query, cold starts in ~300ms and scales to zero instantly when idle. The Free plan is $0 with no card, and includes 3M requests, 10GB of storage and 100 database active hours a month. At a limit it pauses, and your data is kept. Pro is $15 a month per account at its launch price, and includes 10M requests, 25GB of storage and 1,000 database active hours. Above that, requests cost $0.65 per 1M, storage $0.25 per GB-month and active hours $0.05 per hour.

Q: What is included in Enterprise self-hosted pricing?

Enterprise self-hosted pricing follows your deployment and includes priority security patches, audit logging, FIPS-compliant cryptography, object storage support, distributed live queries and commercial support with guaranteed SLAs.

Q: What support plans are available and how do they differ?

Three tiers. Standard covers business hours with an 8-hour Severity 1 response. Business Critical is 24x7 with a 2-hour Severity 1 response. Premium is 24x7 with a dedicated Slack channel, a named Technical Account Manager and a 30-minute Severity 1 response.
