SurrealDB Cloud can now be deployed in São Paulo, Brazil. The new region is live today - pick it from the region list when you create an instance.
For teams building in Brazil and across Latin America, this closes the last big gap in the deployment story: until now the nearest place to run a managed SurrealDB instance was North America, and every query paid for the trip.
Latency and data residency for your workloads
Running in São Paulo puts the database closer to your customers for our South American users. It also keeps Brazilian customer data stored and processed in Brazil, satisfying data-residency requirements that previously ruled out a managed deployment. All this while maintaining the same SOC 2 Type 2 controls, ISO 27001, GDPR, encryption and network isolation options as every other region. Agents gain twice over: the region removes the distance, and SurrealDB removes the fan-out. Vector search, graph traversal, full-text search and document reads all resolve in one query against one store rather than separate calls to a vector database, a search engine and a primary database.
Where SurrealDB Cloud runs
São Paulo joins five other regions:
US East (N. Virginia)
US East (Ohio)
US West (Oregon)
Europe (Ireland)
Asia Pacific (Mumbai)
South America (São Paulo)
Get started
Create an instance in SurrealDB Cloud and select South America (Brazil) as the region. Everything else - tiers, instance types, versions, backups - works exactly as it does elsewhere, so existing automation needs nothing more than the new region value.
If you are running SurrealDB in production and want high availability alongside in-region deployment, the Scale tier gives you multi-node, multi-availability-zone clusters. The Cloud documentation covers the full set of options.
