This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”), forms part of the SurrealDB Master Services Agreement, or any other written agreement that governs Customer’s use of the Services entered into between the Customer and SurrealDB (“SurrealDB”) (the “Agreement”). All capitalised terms not defined herein shall have the meaning set forth in the Agreement. For the purposes of this AUP, and except where otherwise indicated, the term “Customer” shall include Customer and its Affiliates. This AUP supersedes and prevails over any conflicting term of the Agreement but does not otherwise modify the Agreement.
SurrealDB may modify the AUP at any time by posting a revised version onto this page. Customers who sign up to updates via https://surrealdb.com/legal will be notified of material changes to this policy. Continued use of the Services after the effective date of the revised AUP constitutes acceptance of the changes.
You agree not to use, or facilitate or allow others to use, the Service or Website:
for any illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, or unlawful activity, including engaging in terrorism, cybersecurity crime, or organised crime;
to threaten, incite, promote, or encourage violence, abuse, terrorism, or other harm or bodily injury;
to violate, or encourage the violation of, the rights of others, including any person’s privacy rights;
to encourage or promote child sexual exploitation or abuse;
to gain unauthorised access to, disrupt, or impair the use or availability of the Service or the Website;
to store, process, or transmit data in violation of applicable laws, including but not limited to GDPR, CCPA, or other relevant regulations;
to violate or circumvent the security, integrity, or availability of any computer or communications system, user, network, software application or program, computing device or other resource of SurrealDB or any third party;
to distribute corrupted or harmful files, viruses, worms, Trojan horses, hoaxes, or other destructive or deceptive items;
to distribute, publish, send, or facilitate the sending or distribution of unsolicited email or other communications, messages, promotions, advertisements, or solicitations;
to violate SurrealDB’s intellectual property rights or otherwise compete with SurrealDB; or
to engage in cryptocurrency mining or similar activities, except as expressly authorised by SurrealDB.
Subject always to SurrealDB’s other rights and remedies, we may investigate any suspected violation of this AUP and remove or disable access to any Service that violates this AUP. You agree to cooperate with us to remedy any violation.
